Happy New Decade!

That's right, not only has a year ended, but so has a decade. (Well, technically speaking, we still have another year for the latter, but no one follows that rule.)

Anyway, as of right now, my current top ten of the decade goes like this:

1. Moolaade (Ousmane Sembene, 2004, Senegal)
2. Waking Life (Richard Linklater, 2001, USA)
3. Elephant (Gus van Sant, 2003, USA)
4. Russian Ark (Aleksandr Sokurov, 2002, Russia)
5. L'Enfant (Jean-Pierre Dardenne & Luc Dardenne, 2005, Belgium)
6. A.I. Artificial Intelligence (Steven Spielberg, 2001, USA)
7. Waltz with Bashir (Ari Folman, 2008, Israel)
8. The House of Mirth (Terence Davies, 2000, UK)
9. Mulholland Dr. (David Lynch, 2001, France)
10. Cache (Michael Haneke, 2005, France)

An Introduction

Hello, anyone and everyone who happens to be reading this. How are you doing? Anyway, to get down to specifics:

About Me - Hi. My name is Marshall. Currently sixteen years old, and a sophmore. Interests include movies, music, art, etc.

About this blog - Basically, this blog is made for movie fans by a movie fan. I will annually (as in weekly) either review a movie, talk about upcoming movies or people involved in cinema, or anything else film-related. Every now and then non-movie subjects may come up, of course.

About the Title - This blog was named after Alain Resnais' classic 1961 avant-garde film Last Year at Marienbad.

So, have fun, and stuff.
